About

I am a mother, a wife and a design & marketing professional who is not happy if there is no time for preparing a home-cooked meal for dinner. We all have busy lives, yet with a tween in dance and cheer and a toddler who is literally my third leg from the moment I pick her up from daycare after a full day of work, I pride myself in cooking and make it a family event. We all participate in this daily event, from setting up the table to peeling onions and garlic.

Being from Portugal and having lived a little all over the world inspires me to create meals that most may say are not child friendly. Well, I beg to disagree! Not only do my own daughters eat just about everything, their visiting friends always try four bites of what is on their plate when they have a meal with us. I have had tweens look at baby octopus and make the most horrendous faces! And yet they are the ones who could not stop eating after trying them for the first time. That gives me MUCH pleasure. Of course some may say I am a tad stubborn because they know well they DO have to try new foods whether they like it or not!

Hi Sofia,

I'm writing to let you know about a recipe contest that may interest you: the Madison Area CSA Coalition is seeking recipes designed by community members like you for their “Farm-Fresh and Fast” cookbook project. They are looking for original recipes that feature fresh, local produce and are ready to serve in under 60 minutes. (i.e., things that would be good for weeknight meals). If they select your submission(s) for publication, you’ll see your name, and your culinary creation, in print!

The link below has all the details of the contest. Please feel free to submit as many recipes as you wish, or forward the contest to anyone else who may be interested in participating.

Thanks!
Danielle Pacha

PS: If you plan to announce the contest on your blog and you'd like access to any of the contest graphics, please let me know and I'll get them to you.
