A crazy weekend ended

Well, let me start by thanking all that came to the Day of Portugal party. Much as last year it lasted for 12 hours and was much enjoyed by everyone. I must say though that Saturday morning was very hectic especially as I was about to deep fry some appetizers and my deep fryer kicked the bucket! Instantly what would have taken me 1.5 hours to do became over 2 hours of work while frying just 4 to 5 appetizers at the time in a pot over the stone. It all worked out in the end and the food was eaten and enjoyed.

A GREAT thank you to my teen who not only helped me taking care of her little sister, but also was unstoppable with helping organize everything as well as setting up the food and doing a beautiful job decorating the plates. Also another great thank you to three of her friends who also helped us between Friday and Saturday, especially Miss Smiley who was fantastic and non-stop on Saturday.

Here was the final menu we ended up having:

Rissois de camarão
Shrimp turnovers
Ovos verdes
Green eggs
Croquetes de carne
Meat croquets
Salada de feijão verde
Green beans salad
Asas picantes
Spicy wings
Chouriço e morcela grelhada
Grilled chouriço and blood sausage
