Thanks to all that have been following me since the inception of this blog. As most of you know I love cooking, experimenting in the kitchen and even more so making people try all sorts of foods.
I did take a LONG break in updating my blog but now am back and hope to keep on going. As you can see there is a new look and after much thinking about it and the help and advice of a very smart person I have yet to meet I realized what strives me to cook and try different things are my children. Most of us work fulltime, have busy lives and it is very easy to fall in the trap of what's for dinner? Let's get some frozen food, take out or even worse fast food.
Apart from the fact that creating a home-cooked meal is cheaper, it is often healthier and can be a fun time to spend with our kids as long as they help and interact while in the kitchen. We are also teaching them the good values of family times, preparing them for a future when they leave the nest and allowing their imagination grow while they interpret recipes or just go through the fridge and pantry and try to come up with their own recipe.
I have two daughters: the oldest, a tween who is extremely active in her school cheer team and also dances just about every style you can think of at a local dance studio and competes. The other is a toddler full of pep and vinegar and is my third leg from the moment I pick her up from daycare.
There are days in the week there is simply no time to create a meal, but when there is I do make sure we all participate in it and allow them (yes even the little one) to help me in the kitchen and put their thoughts into what we are making. The little one LOVES to peel garlic and onions and often I get the final products with a few dents on it. They both fully enjoy trying out the sauces as the food is being prepared.
So the recipes will be as before but I will focus more on what my girls thought of it, both the preparation as well and the final taste. Enjoy the ride and keep on letting me know your thoughts as they are much appreciated.
