Bœuf Bourguigon
For dinner I decided to make this amazing Bœuf Bourguigon recipe from Leite's Culinaria. My tween helped me with most of it and was enjoying seeing not only the process but also what was going into it. The best and funniest part though (she did not think it was funny), was I forgot to mention to her I was about to flame up the meat after adding the cognac. Her face of shock and scare was too funny. Mom, what are you doing? The kitchen is in flames. I could not stop laughing and she was getting more upset at me. Once the flames eased off, she saw the beauty of it, then tried out some of the meat and loved it. Of course that was the toughest part while cooking, she kept on stealing pieces of meat but I do not mind as she then keeps on trying it at different stages and tastes the differences. I served it with Jumbo shells, not the best match, but had forgotten to get noodles and my daughters are not big fans of potatoes.
